Service Description

This tour is a good opportunity to explore the part of nature in urban history. Nouvo St-Roch, the most recent hipster district of Quebec City with start-up and tech business, trendy restaurants and bistros. The history of the Saint-Charles River is one of Quebec' finest examples of re-naturalization after the devastating effects of intense industrialization. In the 1990s, many citizens of Quebec City deplored the state of the river, especially in the urban area. From the open dump to the concrete banks, the river can finally breathe again thanks to a strategy seeking to re-naturalize these banks since the mid-1990s. Today, on going efforts allows flora and fauna to regain their place and play an important role in the ecosystem of this tributary of the St. Lawrence. A reminder of the industrial district and main commercial street of the '60, Saint Roch architecture reflect the prosperity of a different time. A good place to hang out and enjoy mixte social community after a walk along the River Park.
